Dr. Barisone is a cardiovascular nurse with clinical experience in patients with heart failure. Since 2014, she has been active in national and European cardiology associations, promoting care models for heart failure and enhancing the role and recognition of heart failure nurses. In 2018 she earned a PhD on patients with heart failure with implantable cardiac devices, and in 2023 she she obtained her qualification as Associate Professor. Since that time, she has been a steering committee member of a national campaign for the prevention of cardiovascular disease in Italy. In 2024, she was the local director of the first ACNAP Heart Failure Nurse Course in Italy, in collaboration with the Heart Failure Association. She is a Fellow of the Heart Failure Association and participates in awareness-raising projects in the field of cardiovascular prevention. Today her work focuses on patient engagement in clinical research, the co-production of projects, and the translation of scientific evidence for the benefit of patients.
