Programme ITERA
The programme ITERA was developed to support the creation of heart failure (HF) clinics in Spain by providing logistical support and professional training.
The programme made a number of tools available to support people to live well with HF:
- A guide explaining what HF is, including symptoms and causes, possible treatment and general recommendations
- A chart for control of medication
- A guide with detailed dietary recommendations
- A guide of recommended exercises
- A chart to record weight measurements and to help the person identify when escalation to a healthcare professional is needed.
ITERA has since developed into the programme PRISMA, which also focuses on promoting integrated HF management programmes.
