Nurse training scholarship programme

29 September, 2015

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) supports research and collaboration in nursing care for people with heart failure by awarding two heart failure nurse training fellowships annually.

Since 2011, the ESC has been awarding annual research fellowships worth €24,000 each to qualified nurses who are interested in advancing the field of nursing care for people with heart failure.

The programme is aimed to advance research on nursing care in heart failure, support exchange between heart failure research institutions and develop the academic skills of nurse research fellows. It is open to European nurses currently enrolled in an MSc course, who will be undertaking a research project in a host institution.

What has it achieved?

Since 2011, eight nurses have been awarded the fellowship, including participants from Cyprus, Germany, Iceland, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey and the UK.
