After graduating from Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland, with a BSc in General Nursing, Ciara emigrated to Calgary, Canada, where she worked as a nurse on a 40-bed acute cardiology ward. On returning home, Ciara chose to expand her experience and extend her knowledge, working in a variety of medical disciplines and across a multitude of diverse settings before deciding to pursue a career in the emergency department. Cardiology, especially heart failure, has always been a keen interest of hers, along with health promotion. Ciara made the move to Centric Health to work as the nurse lead with the HeartCare at Home remote monitoring programme. She now leads the remote monitoring team for chronic disease at Care-Connect, supporting on clinical governance, audits, and regulation and providing clinical input into programme design and development.
