Dr Hans Eguia is a physician specialising in primary care at Lægehuset Rudkøbing (Denmark) with a master's degree in telemedicine. He is a PhD candidate in artificial intelligence applied to medicine. His special interest is cardiology, particularly the use of digital tools to improve both the cardiovascular health of patients and hospital admissions/waiting lists. Dr Eguia is a member of the working group on telemedicine for home monitoring of heart failure in Denmark. He has developed and participated in various studies and projects on the use of digital health aimed at patients and healthcare professionals, and he is currently working on remote formulas for patient monitoring and a Proposal for a European Framework of Digital Competence for Healthcare Professionals (DigComp). He is a member of the Danish Society for General Medicine (DSAM), the Spanish Society of Primary Care Physicians (SEMERGEN) and the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) eHealth working group. He is also a council member of the European Primary Care Cardiovascular Society.
