Professor Salvatore Di Somma is a clinical cardiologist and internist, as well as Professor of Medicine at the Department of Medical Surgery Sciences and Translational Medicine, Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). Professor Di Somma is a director of the Postgraduate School of Emergency Medicine at Faculty of Medicine and Psychology, and the Director of Community Health System and Telemedicine University Programme, and Pass-Director of Department of Emergency Medicine, Sant’Andrea Hospital Rome, all within the Sapienza University of Rome. He is also a visiting professor for Emergency Medicine at Health Center, University of California San Diego (USA) and Expert Professor at the Department of Medicine, Lund University (Sweden). Professor Di Somma has published more than 300 papers in the field of acute cardiac care, cardiology and emergency medicine. He is Editor in Chief of Eurasian Journal of Emergency Medicine and of the translational medicine section in Medicina. Professor Di Somma is President of Global Research on Acute Conditions Team (GREAT), as well as President of GREAT Network Italy. He is the scientific-committee chairman of the Italian Association of Patients with Heart Failure (AISC), a member of the European Society of Cardiology (ECS) Acute Cardiovascular Care Association (ACCA) Working Group and a member of the directive council of the Italian Association of Heart Failure (ITAHFA).
